The discovery is not only a tribute to the agar tree, which is deeply rooted in Arab culture, but also a tribute to one of the most luxurious spices in the world: saffron. It smells bitter, tart and spicy, like the wind of the sandy deserts of Morocco and transports us to completely foreign worlds.
Gao captures exactly this property of saffron and combines the already exotic pleasant aroma with the most subtle oud from the regions of Thailand and Laos.
The melange of nutmeg grass, cedar juniper and gurjum that predominates in the heart merges with the spices and woody notes. An illusion arises about Arab spice markets. Merchants offer their most valuable wares for sale, and esteemed customers perfume themselves with traditional oud oils. Scorching heat enhances these overwhelming aromatic impressions. A fabulous bouquet hovers over the stage. The base note of the fragrance hides the next surprise for our noses: resinous, sweet amber tones flow into earthy patchouli. A noble sweetness appears and the initially rough Gao is now extremely soft.
